Emotional Freedom Technique

EFT is a proven mind/body healing technique which helps to manage stress, negative emotions and erase those self limiting beliefs that may be keeping you from achieving your full potential.

EFT can tap into any area of your life, relationships, confidence, anxiety etc, and is also easy to self-administer. I encourage my clients to use it to help them with physical pain, emotional healing and moving forward in their lives. It’s simple and effective and you just have to try it to experience how well it works.

How it works?

Each of the EFT points refer to acupressure points in the Chinese energy meridian system. The points have a profound releasing effect  on disruptions  which result in physical or emotional stress in  the body’s subtle energy system.

By tapping these points, located  on the head, top of body and hands, these disruptions can be smoothed out.  This system allows emotional or physical complaints to release and heal.  To experience self tapping, click on [Tapping on Yourself].

Sessions

Some issues are too big, too complex, or too scary to handle yourself and you will need the support and guidance of a practitioner. I allow your to body guide me to find the specific memories and traumatic events which have led to feel the way you do today. I also use techniques to allow you to work through traumatic events without feeling the full force of the emotions which were present in the original event.

Sometimes, the results are immediate but sometimes the process can take longer.  The speed at which we work depends on the number of experiences and events which have contributed to your current state of mind or body.

I use EFT and Matrix Re-Imprinting depending on what the client needs.

Matrix Re-Imprinting

I sometimes use Matrix Re-imprinting as an extension to the EFT work. It allows me to work on deeper issues the body may bring up and helps heal the inner child or adult by working on old memories. Some of these can go back before 6 years of age, they act like an ‘anchor’ weighing us down and holding us trapped in negative thought patterns and beliefs. These anchors can manifest in phobias, addictions, anxiety, limiting beliefs and emotional intensity around areas in our present life.

The theory behind Matrix Re-Imprinting is to be able to release from the cause, ie the traumatic event.  To do this we deal with our ECHOS - Energetic Consciousness Holograms [ECHOS].  These  are ‘echoes’ of our past selves, frozen in time because of emotional trauma. The echoes are stuck in their fear based patterns which is repeated in our energy field, and effectively stuck there.  The knock on effect is that this is felt or repeated in present life.

Matrix Re-imprinting  deals directly with our inner selves at the precise moment we experienced the  trauma, (which can be childhood or adulthood)  by releasing the negativity and intensity of the event and allowing us to move forward.

Self Tapping

You will find all the information for self tapping here and here a few tips before you start.

Drink a full glass of water before tapping to stimulate and prepare your body's energy system to release physical and emotional stress.

You can tap down either side of your body with the first 2 fingers of either or both hands, or try crossing over.

Don't tap too hard. Use the same amount of pressure you would as if you were drumming your fingers on a table.

Take a slow deep breath after you complete a round of tapping to help move the energy through your body

Yawning during tapping is a sign that you are releasing energy, so let out the yawns and keep going

The key to tapping is to "tune in" and always ask yourself "How does saying this or thinking this make me feel?" and that will be your guide.

1. Tune-in.

Where do you feel a discomfort or distress?

What does it feel like?

Be specific Ideally, include the location, the description of the feeling, and what the emotion is. (Worried is too general. This tight knot of worry in my forehead is better.)

2. Rate your intensity

(0-10) 0 meaning no intensity and 10 being very intense

If you are unsure, guess. It helps you tune into the feeling and how it does or does not shift after the tapping.

3. Continuously tapping the karate chop point

Emphatically state your set-up statement

Even though _______________ (I have this knot of worry in my forehead), I deeply and completely accept myself.

* Repeat 3 times

The first part of this statement describes how you feel, followed by a choice about how you would like to feel.

4. Tap on each of the points - moving down the body

Tap approximately 3-7 times, re-stating your issue the reminder phrase at each point

This _______________ (knot of worry in my forehead).

Top of head - Eyebrow - Side of eye - Under the eye - Under the nose - Chin - Collarbone - Under the arm - Back to the top of head

5. Take a deep breath...

6. Note your ending intensity

(0-10), with 0 being no intensity (it’s gone!) and 10 being very intense

If it’s above a 2 then repeat the steps above. You can also make the following changes as you tap:

Modify the set-up statement

As in step (2). Even though I still have some of this _________, I deeply and completely accept myself.

Change the reminder phrase to Remaining ________ (whatever feeling is remaining).

Be more specific. What is the best way to describe what you are now feeling? The physical feeling or the emotion in the pain may move or change.

That’s progress! You’ve got your energy moving!

7. To end your session

When you feel the intensity is at an adequate level, end the session by: Tapping on your GAMUT point and close your eyes, open them, look up, look down, look hard down right, look hard down left, hum the words happy birthday to me - count 123456789 hum again happy birthday to me.

Now rate the intensity of how you feel
